Zelda Heaven
October 14, 2008 - Josh
Today, we have a new affiliate: Zelda Heaven . There are of course some site updates to mention, but I’ll save them for a content update. Remember, even when this page isn’t updated there is always work going on behind the scenes.

Zelda Universe and Zelda Wiki.org (of which we are a contributor) have reached some hard finanacial times and could use your support with some donations. I understand that these are hard times for many people, but if you can spare any amount to support these great resources please visit the donation pages on those sites. Everyone involved with these sites would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Dungeon Guides Revamped and Development Center Launched.
October 11, 2008 - Josh
The biggest content news for this update is that the dungeon guides have been revampled. They now match the new layout perfectly, and more content is being added to them. Hyrule Castle Dungeon is now complete and the newest additions are the beginnings of our site walkthrough. Only the first part is complete, but regular updates will be made.
Switching to the new layout is complete, but the layout itself will continue to be in development. You can expect to see some regular changes as time goes by. Some of these changes will be visible and hopefully useful to you. Others will be behind the scenes, but still useful to at least some people.
These changes are being planned and documented in the new development areas I have added to the new About Us section. This information will not be of interest to everyone, but if you have any interest in web design or simply want to know what is on the horizon, this is how you find out. It’s not entirely completed, but many of the pages are and the others are not far behind.

Zelda Capital has just recently launched a new section they are calling game mechs . These mechs are articles detailing how games in the Zelda series were produced and changes that happened along the way. The first article is about Ocarina of Time.
These articles do not contains information completely unknown to the Zelda community, but they are an interesting addition as many sites simply assume people know this information. They won’t help you finish the game, but they do provide interesting information that is not commonly found nowadays on a Zelda site.
Zelda Relic 3.0.1 Progress
October 9, 2008 - Josh
The layout changing is nearing completion. Every page can be accessed and every section has been changed to fit the new layout. However, several images are missing. This is both due to me not putting them in place yet and because I don’t have all of them yet.
While fixing up the layout, I have also reorganized all of the pages. So all of the URLs have changed slightly. In addition, I have taken the Tricks & Secrets section offline for the time being. It was very small and I have much bigger plans for it. You can expect it to return before long. The newly extended “About Zelda Relic” section is also offline, but I plan to have it online before long.
One of the biggest problems remaining is the formatting on the dungeon guides. It hasn’t adapted well to the new layout and I have not yet fixed it. Now that all of the sections are operating properly, this is one of my highest priorities.
New Screenshots, New Layout
September 26, 2008 ~ Josh
This weekend, I have found myself lacking Internet at home. However, I will have it back in a few days. Until then, I have found plenty of time to get some new screenshots. So, some pages previously lacking them now have them. They are: Ether Medallion, Magic Hammer, Helmasaur King, and the Palace of Darkness. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a few I needed for the Palace of Darkness so that page is still incomplete (but it’s closer now).
That is far from all of the new screenshots I have, but not all of the other pages are finished being written yet. I should have even more screenshots before the weekend is over.
In addition, I’d like to announce that before long we will be seeing some layout changes. And this time, it’s not just chaning the banner at the top or fixing the navigation to work a different way. The entire layout is getting a complete revamp. I am using this time I have without Internet access to develop it and hopefully it will be ready shortly after I have Internet access at home again.
I realized that the last time this website saw a major redesign was back when I changed the name to “The Temple Ruins”. That was well over a year ago, and just recently we moved to a new domain and received the name “Zelda Relic”. So, I felt it was time for a change. Fortunately, Wordpress and the CSS based design make switching the layout a much easier task than it has been in the past. I expect that most content will switch to the new layout without needing any editing.
Lastly, a brief reminder for any manga fans out there. It’s not A Link to the Past related, but mark your calendars for it. The Ocarina of Time manga will finally hit American shores on October 7th.
Exciting Legal Information!
September 23, 2008 ~ Josh
More site information pages have been updated. The entire site is still filled with references to “The Temple Ruins” and I’m working to update them. While I do this, I am revisiting and updating the information on these pages. Today, I have updated the affiliation requirements and legal information (your two most favorite pages).
Of course, not all of my time is spent updating legal information. I have recently added information for the Ether Medallion and updated the “hub-page” for Timeline Theories. I also had some time to grab a few screenshots, so the Ice Rod page has been updated to include them. Hopefully I’ll be able to fill in the other missing screenshots before long.
